Student Bios

Kristapher Gamble is a MA/MBA candidate in the dual degree design leadership program between Carey Business School and Maryland Institute College of Art. Kris has experience bringing new ideas to the market and has launched multiple new products for organizations. He brings a user-centered design-thinking approach to solving business problems and finding new solutions in his work with the HCD Lab.

Angela Lee is an undergraduate student pursuing a double major in International Studies and Moral and Political Economy.  Interested in social and managerial issues and the intersection between policy and business, she is part of the HCD lab as a research assistant. 

 Jenny Li is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Finance at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. She graduated from Boston University Questrom School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, concentrating in Finance. Jenny has worked at multiple leading investment banking and private equity firms, gaining experience in financial analysis, policy research, market trends, and business development within the finance sector. With a strong foundation in financial analysis and consulting, Jenny contributes to market research and dataset analysis in the HCD Lab. 

Rose Majeed is an undergraduate student studying Economics, Cognitive Science, & Applied Math at Johns Hopkins University. She plans to pursue a career in management consulting or private equity after graduation. 

Zonghui (May) Mao is an MS Applied Economics candidate at Johns Hopkins University’s Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and serves as a Research Assistant at the HCD Lab. Zonghui recently completed the internship with the United Nations Development Programme in Denmark, gaining valuable experience working with the Human Resources team. With prior research experience and publications presented at international academic conferences, Zonghui brings valuable insights and expertise to the Lab across a broad range of areas. 

Stephanie Njeri is a first-year master’s degree candidate at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri. She is specializing in Africa and Technology & Innovation, and hopes to work in West or East Africa on economic development and human rights issues. During her undergraduate years at Johns Hoppins she was involved in the African Students Association, International Studies Leadership Council, Students Consulting for Nonprofit Organizations, and the Center for Africana Studies. She also worked as a research assistant investigating online and government archives to gather research materials to be utilized in a course studying the historical links between Baltimore and Liberia. This past summer, Stephanie studied in Bologna, Italy at the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies. She currently works as a U.S. Operations Intern at Kiva, a nonprofit that provides microloans to entrepreneurs globally.  Her hobbies include reading, thrifting, and spending time with her family and friends. 

Kayley Sanchez Forbes is a BS double major in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Computer Science. She plans to pursue academia full-time after graduating from Johns Hopkins University. She is involved in the HCD Lab as a research assistant.
