Our Team
Angela Lee is a third-year undergraduate student double-majoring in International Studies and Moral and Political Economy. On campus, she serves as the Vice President of the Korean American Student Association (KASA) and the Vice President of Communications and Events for Hopkins Policy and Public Service Network (HPPSN). At the Lab, she covers research briefs on the Chief AI Officer, AI integration into the workplace, and upskilling/reskilling. She is also a part of the HCD marketing and outreach team.
Arafat Kabir joined the Lab as its inaugural team member, working with Faculty Director Rick Smith to develop early initiatives—from crafting grant proposals to coordinating the Lab’s foundational events. As an advisor to the Lab, he provides editorial guidance and mentors undergraduate research assistants on content curation.
Holly Ya-Fan Chung is a Data Analyst at the Human Capital Development Lab at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and a recent PhD graduate from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in International Health (human nutrition). With over 8 years of experience in research, program management, and program evaluation across multiple countries, her work involves advanced statistical modeling using STATA/SAS on complex survey designs, developing theories of change and logic models, and managing multi-country datasets. Her research background in program effectiveness, nutrition/health, and experience working with populations across East, Southeast, and Central Asia, and West Africa, naturally aligns with the lab’s focus on optimizing human capital and employee well-being, bringing insights from public health contexts to organizational research.
Hong Chen is a master’s candidate in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence at JHU Carey Business School. She is familiar with data cleaning, statistical modeling and analysis, particularly in business and organizational contexts. At the Lab, she is responsible for the TMT dataset updates as well as CHRO-related analysis and report expansion. Hong works closely with the research team to refine executive-level insights and ensure data accuracy.
Kayley Sanchez Forbes is a third year undergraduate student double majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Computer Science. Outside of the classroom, she is the president of JHU’s chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and involved in Charm City Science League. At the HCD Lab, she works on chapter briefs on topics including flexible work arrangements, four-day work week, and artificial intelligence in the work place. She is also a part of the HCD outreach team.
Mengyang Yi is a master’s candidate in Data Science at Johns Hopkins University, with a background in Statistics and Economics from Rutgers University. Her academic and professional training spans data analytics, statistical learning, and applied machine learning across healthcare, pharmaceutical research, and business intelligence contexts. At the Lab, Mengyang works on GPTW-related comparative analyses across multiple national contexts, examining organizational culture metrics, workforce trust indicators, and institutional performance patterns. Her work supports cross-national benchmarking, data-driven insights, and scalable analytical frameworks for global workplace research.
Rose Majeed is an undergraduate student studying Economics, Cognitive Science, & Applied Math at Johns Hopkins University. She plans to pursue a career in management consulting or private equity after graduation.
Stephanie Njeri is a second-year master’s candidate studying international relations. She is focusing on the intersection of Africa and Technology and currently serves as the director of outreach and partnerships for the Johns Hopkins SAIS Technology Club and is on the executive board for the SAIS Africa Club. At the lab, Stephanie writes on global human capital trends in emerging nations and supports HCD’s environmental, social, and governance research.
Vandana Yadav is a multisector leader with 12+ years of experience at the intersection of strategy, communications, and public impact across higher education, healthcare, climate, data, and public innovation in India and the US. A former engineer and journalist, she specializes in translating complex systems into clear narratives, scalable programs, and cross-sector partnerships that drive real-world outcomes. She has scaled nonprofit and startup initiatives to global visibility, managed multi-million-dollar research portfolios, and led outreach and partnerships for top-ranked academic and policy institutions. Her current interests are AI policy and governance, biosecurity, and human capital development.
As an advisor to the Lab, she leads outreach, global partnerships, and knowledge exchange initiatives, and mentors undergraduate research assistants to amplify research insights and advance workforce well-being and the future of work.
